FRQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE SILHAUS?

The Silhaus is a private, boutique pole dance and yoga studio located in Ybor City, Tampa. Offering intentional 1:1 sessions designed for mindful movement, self-expression, and nervous-system-led practice—without the pressure or comparison of group classes.

WHO IS THE SILHAUS FOR?

The Silhaus is for anyone craving a more personalized, supportive movement experience—whether you’re new to pole or yoga, returning after time away, or seeking a space that honors your body, boundaries, and pace.

WHAT TYPES OF SESSIONS DO YOU OFFER?

Private pole dance sessions (1:1), Private Yoga Sessions (1:1). Each session is tailored to your goals, experience level, and how your body feels that day. All sessions are by appointment only.

DO YOU OFFER GROUP CLASSES?

No. The Silhaus intentionally does not offer group classes at this time. The studio is designed to support deeply personal movement experiences without performance pressure or comparison. However, The Silhaus can come to you at a location of your choice - perfect for larger parties, bachelorettes, etc..

DO I NEED PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN POLE OR YOGA?

Not at all! Beginners are warmly invited! Sessions are designed to meet you exactly where you are—whether it’s your first time or you’re refining an existing practice.

WHAT IF I FEEL NERVOUS, STIFF, UNSURE OR "NOT STRONG" ENOUGH?

That’s completely normal, in fact, I felt the same way when I started yoga and pole! Many clients come to The Silhaus specifically because they want a softer, more supportive entry or reintroduction to movement. There is no expectation to perform—only to explore and express. Everything you need is always within you. Trust me, the key to starting is to simply start - the rest will come.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

For Pole: Anything that empowers you! Exposure of arms and legs are usually necessary for skin grip to the pole. Think shorts and tank or sports bra, bathing suit, lingerie, etc.. Their are specific heels for pole dancing, commonly known as "pleasers", heels are recommended but always optional. If you opt to be barefoot, please bring a pair of socks.

For Yoga: Comfortable clothing you can move in.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?

Water, an open heart and positive energy is encouraged for all sessions.

For Pole: A pair of socks. Knee pads and heels encouraged, but absolutely not necessary - especially for first timers or exploring the art. Grip aids are commonly used, and some options will be available to explore and for sale, if needed.

For Yoga: Please bring your mat and a small hand/sweat towel. If a mat is unavailable, one can be rented for $8.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH SESSION TO BOOK?

If you’re unsure, start with what you’re craving—not what you think you should choose.

  • Book a Private Pole Session if you’re curious about pole, want to build strength and confidence, or explore movement in a creative, expressive way—at your own pace, without an audience.

  • Book a Private Yoga Session if you’re seeking grounding, mobility, nervous-system support, or a slower, breath-led practice that meets your body where it is.

If you’re completely torn or it’s your first time, choose the session that feels most accessible right now. Each offering is adaptable, and your session will be shaped around your needs once you arrive. Please read the class descriptions to help guide your decision.
